  • Michael Dillon, BP&O(Hons), PhD

    Dr Michael Dillon is a Professor in Prosthetics and Orthotics at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He currently serves as the Head, Department of Community and Clinical Health.

    Dr Dillon completed his undergraduate studies in prosthetics and orthotics at La Trobe University, and his doctoral studies in biomedical engineering at Queensland University of Technology. Dr Dillon has worked as a clinical prosthetist in both public hospitals and private practice prior to his first academic appointment.

    Dr Dillon has led a wide variety of research in topic areas including: epidemiology, biomechanics, outcomes after amputation, and the lived experience of limb loss. Dr Dillon has published more than 70 journal articles, book chapters, editorials and commentaries. He regularly presents at conferences both in Australia and internationally.

    Dr Dillon has served a number of senior leadership roles including: Discipline Lead in Prosthetics and Orthotics at La Trobe University, President - Australian National Member Society, International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics, as well as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Prosthetics and Orthotics International.

  • Stefania Fatone, BP&O(Hons), PhD

    Dr Stefania Fatone is a Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Program Director of Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, USA. During the development of the Amputation Decision Aid, Professor Fatone was a faculty member in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She completed her undergraduate degree in prosthetics and orthotics and her doctoral studies at La Trobe University in Australia.

    Dr Fatone has over 20 years of experience conducting prosthetics and orthotics research and currently leads multiple research projects funded by federal agencies and professional organizations. She has published more than 80 journal articles, book chapters, editorials, commentaries, and evidence notes and presents regularly at conferences nationally and internationally.

    Dr Fatone is an honorary Member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and a recipient of the Academy’s distinguished Research Award. She has also served as a co-Editor-in-Chief of Prosthetics and Orthotics International.

  • Matthew Quigley, MCPO (Hons)

    Mr Quigley is a qualified Prosthetist/Orthotist who has worked in amputation related research including amputation epidemiology and shared decision-making for people facing amputation.

    Mr Quigley is currently a doctoral student at Monash University, Melbourne. His current work involves using national diabetes audit and feedback data to determine areas for improvement in diabetes care. This work also includes redesign of the feedback supplied to sites participating in the Australian National Diabetes Audit, in consultation with stakeholders, to optimise the utility of this important benchmarking data.

  • Jake Eadie, MCPO, BID

    Jake Eadie is a qualified Prosthetist/Orthotist and qualified Industrial Designer. Jake completed his Industrial Design with Honours from Monash University, before completing a Masters in Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics at La Trobe University. Jake worked on a range of industrial and graphic design projects before shifting his focus solely to prosthetics and orthotics.

    Jake has worked clinically as a prosthetist/orthotist in both public and private settings working across the entire spectrum of care, from acute, subacute, rehabilitation and long term ongoing care of complex clients.
